Strahinjčica mountain
Strahinjščica mountain is 846 m high. It connects Ivančica mountain in the east with the mountain range Kostelsko gorje in the west. Strahinjščica cuts the Zagorje region in two valleys.
It´s steep slope above the villages Jesenje and Strahinje stretches in the east- west direction and is 10 km long. The highest peak in the west is called Slon (445 m) and in the east Hajdinsko zrno (738 m). There you can also visit caves called ˝Pisane pečine˝.
Strahinjščica is detached from Ivančica mountain by Očura defile and from the mountain range Kostelsko gorje by Krapinica defile. It is considered to be a very special mountain because of its very steep slopes, deeply cut in passes, deforested mountain ridges and limestone rocks. Inspite of that you can walk length and breadth of the mountain. The most interesting point is climbers hut and the rock Dedek from where you can enjoy the view of Krapina.
Strahinjščica is very important mountain for the Bednja region because it forms the climate of the region which is known as ˝Zagorska Lika˝.
