Maceljska gora mountain (718 m)
Maceljska gora is a widely scattered mountain range which extends in the west- east direction, from Rogatec in Slovenia to Trakošćan. It is 22 km long. The road from Krapina to Ptuj which passes near Donji Macelj cuts in two the mountain range of Macelj. The highest part of the range is called Log with the peak Balinovec (718 m) in Slovenia. In Croatia, there is a slightly lower peak with the Massive Čemernica (the creek valley on the western side of Trakošćan) and the highest elevation Kamena gora mountain (489 m). The most picturesque and interesting area of the mountain range of Maceljska gora is the area intersected with the creek valleys between Čemernica (Brezova Gora) and Gornje Jesenje and the area of Ježovec, Pašnik, Vrbno, Šinkovica and Osonjak in the Municipality of Bednja. The range is mostly covered with deciduous woods (beeches, oak tree/Quercus Petraea/, hornbeam). The mountain range of Maceljska gora is attractive for trekking tours and hunting.
