The first of May trip was first organized in 1997as a reaction of the local Tourist Board to the large number of visitors spending their day in Trakošćan, visiting the castle or just enjoying the nature.

 

Every year more and more tourists come to Trakošćan on the first of May although attendance rate depends on the weather. The first of May trip is sometimes visited by 20 000 people in a day.

 

The event organizer is the local Tourist Board and their programme is based on the autochthonous food (ox on the spit, bean soup), music, drinks, autochtonous souvenirs, traditional military units performance, cavalry programme.
The first of May trip is a one- day event which is held every year in Trakošćan.
